Privacy Policy

Two Island Harbour ("we," "us," or "our") is the independent IT consulting practice of Dan Green, based in Nova Scotia, Canada. This policy explains what limited information this website collects, how it is used, and your rights under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Our principle: collect as little as possible
This site is designed to function with the minimum possible collection of personal information. We do not run third-party analytics. We do not load tracking pixels. We do not sell or share data with advertisers, because we don't have any.
What we collect
Contact form submissions
Our contact form is a plain HTML form with a mailto:
action. When you click Send, your browser opens your default email
client with a pre-filled message addressed to dan@twoislands.ca.
No intermediary service processes your form data — the email is
sent directly from your email client to our inbox, over whatever
transport your mail provider uses. We never see your data until
the email arrives, and we do not collect or log form submissions
on this website.
We retain received emails for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond to and follow up on your inquiry, and will delete them on request.
Server logs
Our hosting provider (Web Hosting Canada) keeps standard web server logs containing IP addresses, request timestamps, and user-agent strings. These logs are used for security and operational purposes only, are not aggregated into analytics, and are rotated and deleted according to the host's retention schedule.
Cloudflare (DNS / CDN)
We use Cloudflare for DNS and as a content delivery network. As a result, requests to this website may transit Cloudflare infrastructure, including infrastructure located in the United States. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request metadata to deliver content and defend against abuse. We do not use Cloudflare Web Analytics or any Cloudflare product that creates user profiles.
What we don't do
- We do not run Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, Matomo, or any other web analytics platform.
- We do not embed Google Fonts from the Google CDN — fonts are self-hosted on this site.
- We do not load advertising scripts or social-media tracking pixels.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We do not set non-essential cookies. (At present, this site sets no cookies at all.)
Where data is stored
This website is served from Cloudflare's global edge network, which means requests to it may be routed through or briefly processed on infrastructure outside Canada, including in the United States. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request metadata to deliver content and defend against abuse.
Email sent through the contact form is transported by your own mail provider and delivered to our inbox at dan@twoislands.ca. The routing of that email depends entirely on your mail provider and ours; neither party controls where transit infrastructure lives.
Your rights under PIPEDA
You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you.
- Request a copy of that information.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Withdraw consent and request deletion at any time.
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
